mother

by: Mallik Bulusu (mbulusu@hotmail.com)

Oh Mother, my greatest teacher On life's philosophy, an unparalleled preacher Your endless love, where else can I find It is pure, abundant, warm and kind   You nurtured me morals, respect, values and character The alphabets of ethics from first to last character You taught me the science of kites and prisms And simplified the gist of a countless isms   When I committed a mistake, you scolded me for sure But I realize, your intentions are inherently pure Your words are axioms that shape me to perfection Your methods are unique, full of affection   Wisdom and experience are your teaching tools I cannot find them even in the best of schools To carve me you needed no chisel, no maquette Ironical, you never compromised on precision yet   You made my dreams your goals and helped me succeed Always inspiring me to put my best in every single deed Mother, there is no treasure which is greater than you To state this, I need neither a proof nor a clue   There wouldn't be a metric to measure you There wouldn't be an accolade to qualify you On earth, you are the greatest institution Discipline you enforce is ideal constitution   Yours is the school where there are no alumni Because you do not offer degrees for them to try Yes, it is a place where I can never be graduated But with passing of a year, I become that much learned   Words are poor replacements to thank your ethereal love Which is eternally constant, every then and now All I can pay you is my promise in return To strive to be your school's dream intern   Oh Mother! Forever you are my single principle Oh Mother! Forever I am your simple disciple
