As I stare at that big flag of freedom flapping in the wind, I remember the war. We fought for our lives, little white uniforms with little white shoes. I helped the man of my dreams up from that white linin cot, oh how I loved him. A simple kiss goodbye, I would hold on to for the rest of my life. At 16:00 we where suppost to meet by the water station. I waited for a bit you never show, I went back to my tent and waited some more. When they rushed you in with that huge hole in your arm, I fixed it. When you came in with that hurt leg, you knew I'd mend it again. My broken heart will never mend, I don't think I'll ever love again. Six weeks later it was all over I packed and went home. Still havent herd or seen a single sign that your okay. A small package arrives with big red letters saying "Postage Due" I opened it quickly as your dog tags jingled like bells, tears ran down my face. I picked up the blood stained paper and read it carefully. "I love you" wrote big and shacky "Always I am with you" "Love John" Well theres so much to say. Your daughter is beautiful she has your eyes. I remember how they burned like flames. With out you I walk on a wire. Thank you for our freedom, if it wasnt for you we wouldn't have it, you died for our country, therefore I am forever greatful. I miss you so, and I promise never to let go!
